Chris Hill

If you’re faced with substance use disorders and don’t know where to turn, check out Chris Hill.

Chris is the bestselling author of Get Your Life Back: The Road to Freedom from Addiction which reached the Amazon’s No.1 bestseller’s list within 24 hours of release.

Chris lost his twin brother to alcohol and drugs in 2014, and made it his life’s mission to educate others on a tried and tested process of beating addiction. “Losing my twin brother has been the most horrendous, painful experience”, he says, “and I hate the thought of other people suffering in this way.”

Chris has been through his own journey dealing with many addictions – from smoking his first cigarette at the age of seven to using crack cocaine and heroin some 20 years later.

I always knew there was something fundamentally wrong with what I was doing, but I thought I had no way out.

By nature, I am a very determined person, so I went in search of answers to solve my problems. I began reading books on addiction, I tried various pills and potions prescribed by my doctor and I attended addiction clinics to try to tackle my cravings for the drugs I was taking.

Through trial and error and after dozens of attempts to stop – I finally beat my addictions!

That was over 10 years ago, and since then I have continued to study how addiction works and discovered that we have a ‘subconscious mind’ and this in fact, is what actually controls our actions and ultimately our lives.

My mission is to ‘pass on’ the information and lessons I’ve learned so that others can fully understand what addiction actually is. Once you understand how your subconscious mind works and how it ‘powers and drives’ addiction, including addictive and habitual behaviour – you’ll be able to interrupt this process and redirect your course to permanently change your life.

Addiction, by its very nature means ‘a compulsion’ to do something, lack of choice, lack of control. My teaching of the subconscious mind, body and conscious self, gives people back ‘control’ of their thoughts, actions and subsequently, their lives.

I feel incredibly happy and proud when someone contacts me to let me know that the learning achieved from my book, the 7-Day Addiction Plan or the seminars and workshops, has really changed their lives by either helping them beat their addictions or at the very least given them a tool to find their way out when they are ready to make that decision.

Addiction affects every single one of us whether we suffer from addiction ourselves in some way or know someone who does. It affects health, relationships, parenting, work, our money etc.

And when I talk about addiction, it is not simply addictive substances such as nicotine, alcohol, drugs, sugar etc. It is any activity that becomes programmed into our subconscious mind that  has a negative impact on us i.e. addictive activities such as gambling, over-eating, sex-addiction and more. We also become addicted to and stuck in, behaviour patterns that fuel anxieties, phobias and negative outlooks on life.

There is a huge problem in society and I aim to raise awareness and reach out to those that are suffering and through my book and subsequent workshops and seminars, I plan to change the way we see and treat addiction.

Chris currently works with homeless charities such as WSUP, Woolwich and Centrepoint, delivering workshops. He offers a free drop-in workshop once a week in Sidcup and runs regular full-day seminars in London, followed by intensive workshops for those that want to take the learning to the next level and who have made the decision to change their lives.

He offers one-to-one mentoring and support as well as an intensive programme over seven weeks (part group meeting / part mentoring).

From September 2017, Chris starts a schools’ addiction programme, trialling it at a few schools before a wider roll-out.

Get Your Life Back by Chris HillChris has been invited by the NHS to work with patients on a psychiatric ward. He has also started working with the addiction organisation Nexus and is in talks with MIND to begin lectures to their members.
